ABOUT ME
A native New Englander, I attended Concord-Carlisle High School in Concord, MA, and received a BA from Harvard University, graduating cum laude with a concentration in English. After a career in finance in Boston, I returned to my love of writing, earning a graduate degree in English and later receiving my teaching certification.
I taught high school English at Hanover High School in NH (one of the nation’s top-ranked public high schools) starting in 2009, with an emphasis on designing and teaching a course focused on writing the college essay. Over the past decade, I have worked closely with hundreds of students to brainstorm essay topics, revise rough drafts, and produce polished college essays ready for submission. Working one-on-one with students is my passion, so I founded Barrett’s Mill Consulting to work exclusively with individuals assisting them with the daunting task of writing the college essay and supplements.
I reside in Concord, MA and Moultonborough, NH.
